Ancient Glory, Funky Girlies

Photos were taken at the Odeon of Lyon, a Roman theater built in the early to mid second century.
I literally knew nothing about Lyon before I came here; The mere knowledge I have for the city was "old, historical, pretty city with two rivers." Now, each time I visit somewhere in town, I find myself in stunned silence from recognition of yet another tier of the beautiful city.
I earnestly believe that a great city stands for a form of literature in itself; any building, heritage, street or river can be a poem, prose, drama or a novel. As I see it, the Odeon of Lyon is an epic. An epic that chants the ancient glory, the legacy of the Roman Empire and the rise and fall of the city. And us, posing unscrupulously at the oldest heritage site of Lyon, strive to perform a farce, an absurdist comedy for you. I hope you enjoy our presentation of the encounter of the historical and the modern, the clash of the classic and the eccentric!!

The dress code for the night is "pinup"…it was the first time I've ever heard this word…we tried our best to look like a pinup girl, but, well, we are not Marilyn Monroe...
Had a wild fun night with the girls and had our first experience to the gay bar in Lyon thanks to our new friend "Hani" (Seriously, what kind of name is this???) Anyways, have a great week and see you very soon with more fun photos we took this weekend!! Kisses..xxTrying to do the "Sex and the City" walk

The second day of our trip, we took it easy. Didn't bother visiting many places, we just lingered around the port and enjoyed the south, the sun, and the sea. To be honest, there is not much to do or to look around in Marseille; especially compared to the "splendorous" Paris. Yet, I still like the city much, for the laid-back lifestyle, for its hospitable, passionate southerners, and, well, for the salty smell of the sea (((that you can't find in Lyon or in the desert of Phoenix. :-)

A Terrible Beauty is Born

To respond to the ambience of the exhibition and to pay my highest respect to the BRILLIANT 11th Biennale de Lyon, I made sure to dress up with all my excessive, funny pieces of clothes. :-)
I enjoyed a lot of the artworks in the show, especially the animation "Escenario" by Gabriel Acevedo Velarde. It is totally fascinating to me; with the simple, almost "cute" black and white characters, it conceives the idea of endless complicity, conformity, denial of individualism and the blind stupidity…
Well, back to the topic of my outfit, don't you think they match perfectly with the trashy, messy background? I love this conflicting, clashing set of photos, hope you enjoy! Kisses, xx.
