Mediterranean Sea, Cassis and Marseille

Isn't the view amazing?! :) When I was editing the photos my mind flew back to southern France and the Mediterranean Sea again...I was lucky to go to Casis thanks to my friend Vanessa (and her friend who has a car and knows how to drive a manual)! Casis is a popular tourist place about 20km away from Marseille, and is famous for its cliffs and the shelter inlets called "calanques".  We enjoyed the beautiful coast and the sea water, and later had a great bouillabaisse (Marseille fish soup) dinner at old port Marseille! Hope you enjoy the scenery through my lens! Have a great weekend!!!

Marvelous Marseille

The second time visiting the city, I like it even more dearly. Lots of my friends have bad impression about Marseille (dangerous, dirty, bad traffic...), but I haven't had any problems with those. Since it's not my first time, we skipped the tourist attractions and visited the markets and the port. We have experienced the hospitality of the southerners and have tasted the fresh seafood and produce from local Marseille. Here are some photos and see you soon with more pictures of Paris.

The second day of our trip, we took it easy. Didn't bother visiting many places, we just lingered around the port and enjoyed the south, the sun, and the sea. To be honest, there is not much to do or to look around in Marseille; especially compared to the "splendorous" Paris. Yet, I still like the city much, for the laid-back lifestyle, for its hospitable, passionate southerners, and, well, for the salty smell of the sea (((that you can't find in Lyon or in the desert of Phoenix. :-)
